KFMB-TV News 8 JOB OPENINGS
EDITOR (PART-TIME) - KFMB-TV
KFMB-TV News 8 is looking for a temporary, part-time video editor. Responsibilities include editing news clips on our non-linear computer editing system for the weekend newscasts and coordinating video feeds with news crews. The shift is 2:30pm - 11:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays, with some possible weekday shifts as needed. Candidates must have prior television experience and a degree in communications, or journalism is preferred.
BROADCAST MAINTENANCE ENGINEER - KFMB-TV
KFMB-TV is looking for a maintenance engineer with a minimum of 5 years major market studio broadcast experience. Candidates must have substantial experience in Master Control Switcher (Saturn), Routing Switcher (Jupiter/Trinix), Intercom Systems (Clear COM), and Cameras (LDK-6000). SBE Certification or F.C.C. General Class Radio Telephone License is also required. Technical skills should include a solid background in Station Automation, News Automation. Experience with Microsoft networking is a plus. Position requires good people skills, the ability to work a variety of shifts and to be on call. Candidates must be capable of lifting a minimum of fifty pounds, possess a current valid driver's license and be able to provide proof of current automobile insurance.

RADIO TRAFFIC COORDINATOR - KFMB AM/FM
KFMB is looking for a traffic coordinator for the radio traffic department. Position works closely with the sales management staff and account executives and is responsible for accurate radio continuity. Position will also be cross-trained to handle or back up commercial placement/ inventory job duties. Candidates must be extremely detail-oriented, have excellent communication and data entry skills and be able to work with fluctuating workloads and deadlines. Candidates must have at least one year of radio traffic experience. Knowledge of Wide-Orbit traffic system is a plus.
KFMB STATIONS JOB OPENINGS
INTERNET MANAGER - KFMB STATIONS
KFMB is seeking a Manager for its Internet Division. This dynamic sales-oriented individual will report directly to the President and C.O.O. and will be responsible for all sales activity including working with Radio & TV Account Executives and Sales Managers to create and market custom web-based campaigns and web-packages to clients; preparation of, and adherence to, Internet departmental budget monitoring revenue and expenses in an effort to maximize internet department profit; generating creative ideas and strategies for additional revenue opportunities; overseeing all Ad traffic and online streams on 3 websites; and supervising staff to ensure that all design projects are completed and ensuring that the Websites are up-to-date and accurate. Position will work with Radio and TV Promotions to promote special events and will be required to attend regular management and sales meetings, as well as other duties as necessary. Qualifications include prior sales experience in Internet sales, preferably radio and/or TV sales. Candidates must have knowledge of and an understanding of web structure as well as content and design. A college degree is required. Management experience preferred.

KFMB-TV News 8
KFMB-TV News 8’s internship program is intended to assist students who are interested in pursuing a career in the broadcasting industry.

Internships will provide students with an opportunity to learn about television broadcasting as well as hands-on experience in the newsroom. Selected candidates will work closely with producers and will assist with various functions such as researching story ideas, writing scripts, retrieving video and working in the control room to bring the news to our viewers.

We are looking for interns who are committed to a career in broadcasting and have already completed some prior journalism courses. Prior media-based internships and/or previous work experience in the broadcasting industry will also be taken into consideration when evaluating applicants. Juniors and seniors are preferred.
KFMB-FM
Internships are available in Radio Promotions to help students gain some work experience in radio promotions. Candidates must be able to drive themselves to/from remote locations and be able to lift 30-40 lbs. Internship hours are flexible but may involve weekends and holidays.
KFMB-AM
Internship is geared towards a better understanding of show preparation, production, call screening, and technical assistance during live broadcasts. Candidates must be available 10-15 hours/week. Previous experience in public or commercial radio is helpful.

*Internships are unpaid and therefore interns must be enrolled in a college or university internship program that provides school credit in exchange for no pay. Candidates must be able to provide proof of credit prior to starting their assignment. If selected, candidates will be required to complete an "Intern Eligibility Form" and “Waiver of Liability Form” for KFMB Stations
