The American Cancer Society's Memorial
and Special Occasion/Honor program allows donors to pay tribute
to special people in their lives who have lost the battle with cancer
(memorial) or to honor someone who is a survivor. The special occasion
honor program may be used to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays
or other holidays.
Each Memorial and Special Occasion/Honor Gift is acknowledged with
an appropriate card informing the honoree, or surviving family of
the deceased, that a donation was made in that person's name. Included
in the card is the name and address of the donor (gift amounts are
never mentioned) so that they may recognize the gift. A receipt
is sent to the donor.
The gift is promptly invested in life-saving cancer awareness programs,
research projects and services to cancer patients and their families.
For additional information or to make a donation, please call the
American Cancer Society, (800) ACS-2345 or visit the Web site at
www.cancer.org.
